Has anyone on these forums ever signed up for paid surveys online? You answer surveys online and supposedly get paid for it. The one I've seen asks for $32.00 to sign up. Sounds too good to be true so I know it is. Just wondering if anyone has attempted to participate in these and if so what was the outcome.

Years ago, I had taken a look at these. The legitimate ones did not have any startup costs, but making any real money was nigh impossible. Generally, they were paying pennies per survey, and wouldn't even cut a check until you earned at least $10.00. On an hourly basis, it's more economic to flip burgers.

Now, we have a local market research firm that once paid me $50.00 to drink two six packs of horrible beer. I'd rather stick with that outfit. :P

I too have looked into the surveys. The ones I have done are only the ones where they pay me, no start up cost. I have not made a lot, $50 here and there or free samples of products, but it is fun to test out new products.

I would not do any where they want you to pay any "start up" or "sign up" fees.

Hi TH,

My experience with paid surveys is not too good,
but not too bad either. I signed up for one of
the paid survey directories, joined about 50
companies for free but got only one survey so far.

But this one paid me $35 properly by check for
one survey, so I've already got back what I
invested in the survey industry.

I'm not in the most survey-friendly demographic
area though, so I guess that explains why I don't
get too many survey notifications.

Anyway, at least I can witness that one of the
companies paid me. Read the full story here:
Paid Surveys... but do they pay?

Hope it helps.

Yes, it's true: You do not need to pay for a list of survey companies. Here's a newsletter that provides a big list of paid survey and secret shopping companies. Over 300. They also give you free form filling software to speed it up. And, you get DIRECT LINKS right to the online registration forms of each company. No catch, just ad supported.

So, for a free list of all the online survey and mystery shopping companies you'll ever need go here:

http://CompleteListOfPaidSurveySites.com

Highly recommended,

Pat

You should never pay a website in order to be able to earn money from surveys. So in order to help people from paying fee to sites like Survey Scout.com it was created a free paid survey site that lists and reviews survey companies.

Here are some good paid surveys tips:

Keep records of your paychecks. Depending upon the law in your area, you will probably be considered an independent consultant for tax purposes. This means the IRS will be expecting you to pay taxes on your paid survey income. Keep a log of all your paychecks in case you have to pay taxes on it. All expenses associated with your paid survey business are normally tax deductible, including any subscription fees. Please check with a tax consultant for the laws in your area.

Use a free software program to automate filling out forms. These programs are great for signing up with multiple paid survey companies quickly. Many forms can be filled with one 'click', saving lots of time and typing. One of the most popular is RoboForm.

Setup a separate email address. This should be used only for your survey business. You will be receiving a large number of paid survey opportunities daily, and it will be much easier if they're separated from your 'regular' email. Accidently deleting a $25 survey might not make you angry .. deleting a $75 one probably will.

Initially, accept every online paid survey opportunity. The idea here is to establish yourself as a reliable survey worker. Established, proven survey takers get more of the higher-dollar surveys. Once you have a track record and are getting the number of high dollar surveys you desire, then you can 'pick and choose' which surveys to answer.

I've been doing paid surveys for over three years now and I do make about $250 a month from them off of about 5 hours of work. That's probably the max in my opinion. It took me some time to get there but it was definetely worth it. A great resource is jpcservicesinc.com. As you can see no referral link. I'm not making any money sending you there. Just thought it may be useful to some people. It has articles on Direct mail, work from home, Paid Surveys and other stuff. NEVER pay to do surveys. You WILL be greatly dissapointed.

While people do make money taking surveys online, most companies make it sound a lot easier than it actually is.
