I can understand how you feel, I was there once myself. And I did notice that it was not until I started to get some media attention on our story that things really started to get rolling. Send your letter to every media source in your area. We did TV, newspaper (large city and small town) and radio interviews. And they did not come easy. I was calling or emailing them weekly with our story and the latest update on the direction the bank had taken.
Make sure to contact The Attorney General's Office in your state. Refer them to this story on the Iowa Attorney General's office website
http://www.state.ia.us/government/ag/latest_news/releases/feb_2003/nig_scam.html
Contact the mail server that they scammer used and report that the email account is being used for criminal activity.
Don't just send the letter out and wait for them to contact you. If you can find a phone number call them and make sure they got your letter and ask to speak with someone. When this happened to us I was on the phone or emailing people about this all day every day for weeks before we got our first big break.
Don't give up!
