Has anyone ever heard of Work At Home United? They evidently sell natural wellness products. Thanks for your input. This company checks out at the BBB, but just want to be sure.

I have not heard of them, but from what I can see on the site it is like being an "Avon Lady" for health products. These sort of programs are called MLM programs, and while they are legit, you have to sell a LOT of product to make any money. They also encourage you to get others to "sign up" and when someone you refer does sign up, you then get commission off of their sales also. The people who make the BIG money in these are the people who got in on the entry level, since then every new person is connected to their pyramid in some way.

If you want a list of real work at home businesses from real honest people, I would suggest checking out this site

http://www.mompack.com/

The MomPack are Moms promoting Moms, and there are a lot of work at home businesses there that are legit that you could choose from.

Thanks so much for your advice. It seems the actual company my niece is working for is Melaleuca who sells natural home products. I think you are correct about it being similar to an Avon lady. I will look into the website you suggested-thanks again. Kmax

I have heard of Melaleuca . . . I was once in a program similar to thiers.

The problem that I see with many of the Multi-Level Marketing jobs (MLM) are the fact that you really only make the big money if you get a lot of people signed up under you. Then you get a commission off of their sales. So, the people that got into the business when it was "new" will always do the best since there are so many people in their downline. If your downline does not sell or purchase product, you don't make as much either.

I was a part of a MLM group YEARS ago, and I did make some money, but even on the good months it was only $150 or so a month, and I was doing a LOT of work trying to gain more downline members in order to get that amount, so really it would have been better for me to get a part time job at the mall.

I know a lot of moms sign up for SEVERAL of these programs, so then you are getting $50 from one, $100 from another, and all of the little amounts start to add up. Then you just need to market one site that has links to all of the other programs that you are a part of, and no matter which program a person decides to go with, they will end up in your downline.

Also, I think it needs to be a product you really believe in. I know that since I am a "crafty" person, I would probably do better with one of the stamping or scrapbooking companies rather than something that sells vitamins.

I agree-it sounds like a lot of work, and not so much payoff. But I suppose my niece like other young folks will probably have to find this out on her own. Thanks so much for your responses. Kmax
