For years now we have been telling people that once they have wired the money, it is gone and there is nothing that can be done to recover the money, but I am happy to say that we are now making progress to change that!

The Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Department in Minnesota HAS been able to recover money for victims!

If you receive a Fraudulent Solicitation, Report it:
-forward the email to dps.reportfraud@state.mn.us

• Via phone — report any information to local law enforcement or the Minnesota Board of Aging LinkAge line, 1-800-333-2433

• Via mail — send all the original documents, including the envelope, to:
Alcohol Gambling Enforcement Division — Fraud Report
444 Cedar St. #133
St. Paul, MN 55101

I know you are joking, but I have to say this . . . I would NEVER recommend that anyone try to find their scammer. I have heard stories of people who have gone to Nigeria to find their scammer . . . some have never returned.

Hi,
I have been scammed on a fake ebay sale. The seller sent, what looked like a genuine ebay communication, asking me to deposit £3100 in a secured bank account in Greece. I have done this, but have now found out it is a scam.

Can I get my money back from this bank account ...? Any advice would be very welcome..

Recovering money wired thru western Union...

If funds have been wired/ sent thru western union then it MAY be possible to retrieve funds... IF scammer has NOT picked up funds.
How to retrieve funds: Call Western Union Fraud Dept ASAP and explain fraud situation and they will advise further.

I offer this information as I assisted my mother to recover funds sent to Nigeria scammer by my father whom it 'caught up in Nigeria/ scams'. He seriously thinks they are honestly real... In the sense that if he pays scammer $$ hundreds of dollars (for shipping fee/ customs clearing of course) then scammer will send my father a million dollars back. aaaaahhhhhh I've been beside myself to block him at every turn to save him from squandering his $1000 social security monthly check.

Social Security Info.
(Note: Social Security Administration may/ will work with families/spouses whom have a social security recipient whose caught up in fraud scams. With proper/ appropriate/ documented information social security may re-direct a social Security check to the spouse or family member for the care of the actual recipient.) Hope all this makes sense..
