Post subject: Legit or scam? How to find out in time?
PostPosted: Sat Jul 03, 2004 1:17 am
A friend of mine got extremely excited about an investment site he found on the net, https://pips.pureinvestor.com. Looking at what the site is promising is simply too good to be true; a 2% daily interest on money invested.
Off course, the hardest challenge is dealing with sites that operate out of the US, so even if its a scam, I am not sure if it can be shut down..

My question is, how does one find out if this site is legit or a "collect the money and run" scam? Is there some internet agency, that would be able to do such investigation even is the site is non-US?

I would just hate to see my friend loosing his hard earned money and he now talks about the site, technically advertising it to all his friends and relatives.

a really good source to check these people out and see if they appear on the site are:

http://www.worldwidescam.com/index2004.htm
http://www.badbusinessbureau.com

Of course you can take their contact information and contact the bbb to see if they have complaints as well.

The secretary of state office in the state in which they do business should also have a listing of them being a registered company.

It is my belief that if one has the drive they can surf the internet and find all sort of ways to market a business without paying someone nearly 500.00 for a so called tried and true system.

Anyone can have a tried and true system to their own claims but whether it really works you will have to find out by either gaining a lot with the sytem or losing your shirt investing. Unfortunately the latter is usually the case.

$1 invested with 2% daily return would be worth $1.9m. If it's a sure thing, why would anyone share the secret with others?!
