I found a way to sell the laptop that will be safe for both of us. It's a worldwide delivery company called TNT. They have a service that will allow you to test the laptop before I receive my payment.
Please go to the TNT website below and read their procedure so we can be on the same page:

http://globaltntship.com.co/tnt.express ... tions.html

I will pay the TNT shipping fee.
If you agree to their terms please send me your name and address and I will start the delivery procedure.

Thanks,
Anna

Subject: Re: Apple MacBook Air 13.3, Core 2 Duo Laptop - $340

Hi,

The MacBook Air is still available, but I'm currently in Torino, Italy. Because of the financial crisis, I lost my job in United States and I had to move at my sister in Italy ( here I found a good job ) .
I don't need the laptop anymore so I tried to sell the laptop locally, but with no luck. I was offered silly money for the laptop because of issues like - it is a US version or the warranty doesn't work here or that it has a US keyboard format. That's why I'm trying my luck in the US.
I hope you are still interested. The laptop was bought brand new from Apple a 6 months ago. I have attached some pics with it to this email.
About the laptop I can say it is 6 months old and it is in good shape, no scratches, no dents as you can see from the pics I've sent. Included in the $340 price is everything the laptop came with when it was new, including the original manuals and warranty papers. The warranty is fully transferable to the new owner.
The laptop is here with me in Italy.
I tried to be as thorough as I could with the presentation so you can have all the info if you decide to go ahead and buy it.
Please get back to me and let me know if you like the laptop if you're really interested in buying it.

Thanks,
Anna

Wow, you almost had me. Whatever your name is, I pray that you find a more honest line of work and turn away from a life of crime and sin. Merry Christmas.

Hi guys, I just ran into the same person. I'm trying to have some fun with her but she hasn't responded for a day or so:

Her:

Me:
Yes, I am still interested. Do you pay for shipping or do I?

Her:

Me:
Ok. But can we negotiate a little on the price? $340 seems a little high. How about $300?

Her:
Ok we have for $300.

Me:
OK, good deal. I am really looking forward to this because my wife's birthday is coming up, and with her old laptop on the fritz, she really needs a new one. The thing is, she isn't even expecting a new one. So when she finds out she is getting a laptop for her 36th birthday? She's gonna freak. And when she finds out that it's an Apple, and a Macbook Air at that, she is really gonna have a heart attack. I know this isn't going to hurt me in the bedroom department if you know what I mean ;)

So what I need from you first is for you to give me a picture with sort of a "thumb's up" pose with the Macbook and a big smile, and write "Happy Birthday Norma" on a piece of paper and tape it to the screen. Can you do that for me? I swear it would be so perfect. In fact, I am willing to add back on not just that $40 but also another $25 too if you can do all of this for me. And send it to me and then we'll exchange our information and then you can ship it and I'll pay for it with my credit card. Thank you so much Anna, I really appreciate it.

Cheers,

Todd Farmod (not my real name)

I just responded to the same Craigslist ad on Jan. 2, 2011 and received the same response from "Bianca Genovese". May karma catch up to her (him? them?) QUICKLY! Until it does, I think I might have a little fun with it, too.

In most cases, you cannot get them arrested. They are usually in another counrtry and it would have to be the law enforcement and government in THAT country that would need to do something about this issue. Some countries do not see it as a "problem" . . . would you look at something that brings millions of dollars into your country each year as a "problem"? That is the way that they look at these scams.

This is why education about the scams is the best way for us to fight them.

COMPLETE BS! So I decided to call the REAL TNT service, http://www.tnt.com/express/en_us/site/home.html and they told me it was internet fraud. You'd think if this other BS site was using their logo and name, that they would do something about it.
