Here is a scam that we got in the regular old "snail mail".

Subject: Registration to our Register of brand publications of the international trade press on business and economy

They want us to send them money to register are logo. Here is the REALLY funny thing . . . in the box where the registration cost is listed it says, in nice bold type

Registration cost: $1.890,00

Wait a minute . . . I think that they mixed up where the decimal point and the comma are supposed to go. It would be kind of funny to send them $2, tell them to list us in their publication and keep the change.

Just in case anyone searches it, their fax number is listed as +423-232-4480

IDM International Data Medium Anstalt
Werdenbergerweg 11
FL-9490 Vaduz, Liechtenstein

We too received a letter from the 'International Data Media Anstalt.' Fortunately, there are sites online, such as this one!, that easily confirm the suspicion this letter elicited. We haven't even been informed by USPTO yet that our TM has been registered and here the Liechtensteiners go already!

Is there any way to hold them legally accountable for their scam? I'd love to help put an end to their fraudulent activities.

Heidi
