I have given a scammer my real name, my real home address, and my real phone number. I kind of strung him along until he wanted money, so he has no bank information.

Let me explain a little: I was skepticle the whole time, and I was just being funny. When I was sure it was a scam, I got a little bit threatening, saying that i knew companies with proffesional hackers that could ruin him." and then I sent another e-mail pulling back and basically saying, "I am not going to do anything to cause you trouble. I didn't mean any harm. Sorry for wasting your time. I don't want any money. Leave me alone, now."

I also told him that the address I provided was fake, or atleast not my address. But this is a lie. I did give him my real address. He has been writing like an idiot this whole time, but he might be smart enough see through that, and know that it probably is my real address.

It makes me sick knowing he has my address and name. I know other people on here have had much worse, but if there is any advice for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

I guess I thought it was funny, but there is certainly nothing funny about someone having my real address.

You put yourself in a bad situation.

Chances are nothing will come of it, but why chance it?

I agree . . . if you are going to bait, it is much safer to use fake information

but for those who are NOT going to bait and are just worried about the one scammer doing something to them I always say that I have been running this site for years, and the worst that has happened to me is some email viruses sent to us and a DOS attack on the site, so I doubt that they are going to come all the way from Nigeria to do anything to you for the one scam that they did not get any money out of.

So if you found out in time and they have your info, don't worry
But if you found out in time and want to bait them, go to a site where people know more about that, like 419eater.com, and learn before you do anything.
