I have been contacted by this man:

"Michael Hilliard" <piratemike50@yahoo.com

Hi Amelie,
My name is Mike Hilliard. I have been in touch with Susan White and I know the story about Frank Williams. I told her I would do what I can to help find this guy and put him away. That is where I got your name and e-mail address. I got some info from her, but if you can tell me anything it might be helpful.
First off let me tell you a little about me and why I'm here. I got involved in all this scam stuff when I was on an online dating service. It was all new to me at the time, but I have learned this stuff quickly. The ads that came to me were mostly from Accra, Ghana. Probably 75 %. Thought it was great at the time, all these women answering my ad. We talked for a while and then the request for money started coming. After they have vowed undying love and wanted to marry me. The pictures I got were of very beautiful women. Then I started recognizing some of them. They were models on different web sites. So I started asking them about these pictures and got all kinds of stories. Some said they used to model and decided to quit. Others said they used the model pics because they thought they weren't pretty enough to put their pics on. Any way once they realized they had been caught they quit getting in contact with me. Most of them are listed on the scammers site that you have been on. I've listed a lot myself.
I guess my reason for doing this is to warn any one that is thinking about giving money or whatever to these people.
I had one girl admit to me what she was doing and said she felt guilty and then asked me for money 2 days later. I'm still working on that one. She is talking to 2 other guys that I'm talking to now. It just doesn't end. I could go on for days.
Sorry for going on for so long. I just have a lot of info to share with people.
Amelie, just give me any kind of info you can and I will see what I can do for you and for Susan. If you have a picture that would be great, if not maybe a description. Just anything you can think of.
I'll do what I can for you.
Mike

Hello Amelie,
Hope you are doing ok today. Thanks for all the info you gave me. I'll try and see if I can find this jerk for you.
Don't feel ashamed about what happened. You are like a lot of other people, including myself. These people do this for a living and they are very good at it.
I have a Russian trying to scam me right now. I'm still working on that one. I do know it is a guy writing the letters that are supposed to be from this beautiful blond that I have all the pictures of. She/he has asked me for $950 so she could come to the US and be with me. As my wife ! I knew it was a scam when I first started writing, so I thought I would just have some fun with it. Just give them a taste of his own scamming. After a while I started believing the letters she/he was sending and believing what I was sending. Talk about being stupid..... Anyway I did get my head back on straight and I 'm trying to find this guy. I have a picture of who I believe it is, but trying to find him is taking time. I really wanted to find the girl in the pictures and thought that would be an impossible task. After looking for 2 months I found her this past Friday. It turns out she is a model in Russia. I've been on her web site and all the pics that were sent to me were there. This guy has been using the pictures off her site. I sent her an e-mail to explain what was happening with her pictures and I did get a response back. It was in Russian, 3 words." I don't understand " She speaks no English and I speak no Russian. So I have to translate before I send an e-mail. I sent one this afternoon and hopefully will get a response this week. I guess the moral of this long story is: no matter how impossible it seems, DON'T give up hope ! I think GOD guided my hands to this girl and maybe HE'll do the same this time.
You said in your e-mail that he contacted you last week. Do you have his e-mail address or was it from the hotel ?
Also I had another strange thought. Since the both of you ladies that he contacted were from the same area, could he possibly be there ? Just seems like a strange coincidence to me. Just thinking out loud.

Off the subject here. I tried your e-mail on facebook and it didn't bring you up. No address found. I would like to see you. I like to see who I'm talking with when I'm talking away. Kind of strange I know, but it helps me to concentrate. If you want to see who I am, go to http://www.myspace.com/ashspirate All kinds of info. Maybe we can become friends through all this. No money involved though. I promise !!!!
I just like talking to different people. You'll see that on my page. I have a lot of people I talk to from all over. I enjoy learning about different people and places. Can't ever tell when it might come in handy. Like when trying to track down someone.
Feel free to share anything with Susan that i write. I wiil try to write her too.
Like I said anytime something comes up or you think of something, let me know.

Have a great day, Mike

Hi Amelia,
I don't know where Susan is looking, but the last thing I am is a scammer. The only reason I might be on a list is because all the stuff I have posted on delphifaq.com And I believe I have never put my name out any where just so no one could use it. If you go to delphifaq.com and check out a few of my postings you will see I only put in my e-mail address. go to the site and in the search box type in Aleksandrathemostbeautiful you will see my e-mail with stuff i have posted about the blond i was telling you about. Also on the page where you have your stuff posted go above your posting and you'll see a posting of mine again and on page 72 of the same area. There is nothing I can do to convince you I am who I say I am. You will believe what you want. But I would like to know where Susan got my name.

Mike

That was the last one. A scammer too?

Thanks.

Give me some time to do some digging into this one. As always, I would not share info on where you live, date of birth, SS#, where you work and if money comes into play, say no way! Or, if he asks you to assist him in contacting others that could be a hook too . . . use you as some sort of middle man.

Is this person a member of our board? If so, could you send me his username (by email or PM)

Thanks,

I think he is a scammer. I know baiters who will send warning letters which included links to anti-scam sites out to potential victims. They never ask for personnal info and never say they will try to find the scammer.

Another thing is this

Russian scammers do not ask for money in US dallors. They ask for it in euro.

One of the best defenses is to check the IP address to see where the email is really from. Of course he could be using a proxy or satellite. Some scmmers are aware of anti-scam sites so be extra careful.

I think there are two things going on in the letter. Overall I'd say it's a decent letter but there is a "creep" factor to it.

Remember that a scam is a confidence game. In order to con you the scammer has to gain your trust. Without it, it's much more difficult to pull off the scam. Part of the reason they are so hard to catch is because people basically end up ALLOWING themselves to fall for it -- because they have been tricked.

The letter seems nice, but it reads like it comes form a romance addict. He is asking you for personal information. He is engaging in some sort of seduction, which can be sincere, or can be exploitative. Given the context of the communication, I'd say it could be a 50/50 thing. I'd lean to the scam side though because his asking you for personal information COULD be a recreation of the original exploitation.

My experience in life is that people tend to be pre-conditioned to see exploitative behavior as normal, and thus are especially vulnerable to con artists. Be aware of this. That you are questioning it is a HUGE step in the right direction. Your picture and your personal information is yours and no one who claims to want to help you should be mixing business with pleasure. It's classic seduction.

I'd block the guy. He sounds like a creep.

PS: think of the guy as an attorney or a priest who has offered to help you.

Would it be appropriate for him to try to strike up a romance or a friendship? Absolutely not. It's creepy.

Again, I'd lose the guy's info. He obviously has boundary issues.
