My roommate has been corresponding with a man who says his name is "Anthony Bowden" (not sure on spelling of name) she says they have been talking for 3 years about some kind of financial deal and said she was supposed to recieve $25,000 last year but would not disclose if she got it. He called tonight (said from London)and she was very secretive about the conversation. I think it is a long term scam she is involved with taking his time and gaining her trust over the years. She is suppose to Western Union him money tomorrow and I think it is a mistake. Do you have any infomation on a man calling himself that? Please let me know ASAP in case she is being scammed. Yes, this is a scam. Once she sends the money he will continue to feed her lines on this large amount of money she will be getting, and he will need a little more money sent to him for fees. People have lost thousands of dollars in this scam. (usually called the advance fee scam) Please tell her NOT to wire any money to them! |
