Someone claiming to be with PremiumArt is involved in Western Union and counterfeit scams. They got my information from my online resume. They had me submit an employment application form in order to be "considered for the opportunity".

Please pass the word along to others. Thank you.

If you could post any additional information that you have on them, that could help to save others also . . . their email address, contact names used, phone numbers used . . . these are all items that others may run a google search on, and that could lead them to your post here.

Of course. Here is the email address of the scammer: p.artresumes@gmail.com
The legit emails addresses of this site would be christine@premiumart.co.uk , marcel@premiumart.co.uk. For any number listed on your online resume, make sure that it blocks private or unavailable numbers. Beware of any shipments sent to you through DHL or UPS. Some names associated with this company are: Christine Low, John, and Marcel. I'm sure there are others. I'm not entirely sure what site they got my resume from, but be careful of posting your resume on craigslist.org.

Please be very careful in your detail, on this site.

These recruitment scam people, ripping off the public, are using my art website as ref. illegally.

PremiumArt.co.uk is a ligitimate Art site selling canvas paintings in the UK. We are not recruiters or involved in sending money checks to anyone. This can be seen within a few minutes of veiwing our site. Nor do we even sell in the USA. Anyone contacting my sight enquiring about these criminals get this standard reply:

And I Quote....................
"We are nothing to do with the people you are in conversation with. We are a genuine legal business, dealing in canvas paintings only.

These people are scamming the public for money and using our site address illegally, and without our permission. Please forward your information to Craigslist. They are a known scam on craigslist, you will find it under fraud.

kind regards

What your company is going through is much like what an Identity Theft Victim would go through . . . the scammers have stolen your site's identity and name and used it in scams.

I don't think that anything on our site says that you, or your site, is a scam . . . it simply says that the scammers are using your site's name in their scams.

Krys777 - could you clarify how you first came in contact with the people who are claiming to be a part of this company? Did you contact them first or did they contact you?

Christine Low - are any of the following email addresses of people who work for your company?
p.artresumes@gmail.com
christine@premiumart.co.uk
marcel@premiumart.co.uk

or does this phone number belong to you or anyone that works for you
+447031930585

I still believe that the scammers have taken your name and your site's name and started using it in their scams. If someone got an email from them and then googled the company name in order to see if it is legit, they would then find your site. If they later were scammed by these people pretending to be with your company, I am sure you can see how they would assume that all of the pieces go together.

Christine Low

Another thought . . . you should post a warning about these scams on your site. I know that other sites, like many of the banks who have their checks counterfeited, have done this. That way if someone does google the info and finds your site, not only will they know that YOU are legit, but they also will know that you and your site are victims of these scammers also. They would then know that these employment ads are fake. Your site would come off looking like the hero because you would be taking actions to fight back against these scammers and help the average person!

I wonder why there is sudden interest in this after Christine and other people listed on that site barely blinked when I let them know what had occured. I am not sure what she is implying by this statement of hers, but it does not change anything. I stopped bothering trying to get help with my situation, especially after such an apathetic response from Christine, as well as organizations who "claim" they help people who are affected by such scams. I will not change anything I have said because it is what I know to be true. If Ms. Low is offended by what happened, there is nothing I can do. I am offended by the general lack of resources provided to scam victims because I am nearly dead financially now. The "details on this site" are what caused me alot of suffering.

I hope she will be more cautious in the future and will take additional measures to prevent others from being scammed.

Also, yes, I was contacted first.

Krys777,
Thank you for replying to my post so quickly.

Just so you know, I was not asking you to edit your post in any way, I just wanted to get some more information out here for everyone to see.

Did you get the same sort of email that the other board member, saifong, posted?

Can I ask what organizations you have contacted?

I agree . . . there is not as much help/assistance/information out there for victims as there should be . . . that is part of the reason that my husband and I started this site back in 2002. Yes, we cannot help you get your money back, but a LOT of people have benefited from the support of other victims here on the message board and knowing that they are not alone. If I could find a way to quit working a real job and support my family by only working on the mission of this site, I would.

christine@premiumart.co.uk this is me
marcel@premiumart.co.uk this is my husband
We also have info@premiumart.co.uk
These are our genuine mail accounts, used on the site.

The other email address is not known to me, but typical of scammers, an address anyone can create.

The phone number you list is not ours, but again typical of scammers, a UK mobile number anyone can purchase, with no traceability.

What needs to be clear is that the name PremiumArt belongs to our site, as does http://www.premiumart.co.uk Our site is selling art only, not involved with recruitment or art supplies as the scam mails claim.

The perpetrator of the scam is the person or people behind the job adverts on craigslist, and scam mails. They will not use their own name.

And sure, I know they are using our site address, to make their scam mails ‘look’ genuine, but the scam example mails I have seen to date have always been from made up mail accounts, never replica’s of ours. That would be more advanced technically than I think they are at the moment.

There is a warning on our site.

Kind regards
Christine Low

In response to apathy……

We reply a standard automated email to all enquiries that we are sent regarding, jobs, or recruitment. Exampled below:

We are nothing to do with the people you are in conversation with. We are a genuine legal business, dealing in canvas paintings only.

These people are scamming the public for money and using our site address illegally, and without our permission. Please forward your information to Craigslist. They are a known scam on craigslist, you will find it under fraud.

Kind regards
Christine Low
email: christine@premiumart.co.uk
telephone: 020 8133 2009

Most people are pleased we do this, and generally thank me for the information, as they then know the mail they have been sent is not connected in any way to our site.

Kind regards
Christine Low
email: christine@premiumart.co.uk

My point has been proved by this post. I think she forgot to mention that e-mail from her colleague at PremiumArt, John, telling me that my money would be refunded to me.

Generic messages help nothing after people lose their money or have given their information to scammers!! Most people who run a business would do whatever they can to stop the criminals trying to damage their name, not taking out their anger on the victims of crime who just want to save others!! Why not try to make things right??!

To anyone who reads this post:

* Please be aware of who you give your info to!
* Spend the extra money to set up your phone to not accept blocked calls!
* Remember: PayPal, WorldPay, and credit card companies don't typically monitor the activities of businesses who accept their form of payment. These logos on a website don't prove a company is legitimate!
* Never give your information to company not recognized by the BBB
* No legitimate company would be so angry about postings on this site. They would take additional measures to ensure that these scams never happen again under their name.
* Think about it: Why would someone running a legit company have the TIME to monitor this post??!
* Never accept a job overseas without legitimate paperwork. Do NOT agree to a job online.
* If you get a check, have any bank teller examine it first. They don't charge for that (or at least they shouldn't).

**Come forward if a scammer has ever contacted you. Even if you weren't harmed by their actions.**

Call the police if they threaten you. Don't tolerate any threats!

Be safe, everyone.

Sincerely,

Krys777

I contacted Western Union, local police, UK Metro police, Attorney General, PayPal, and a division of the FBI that deals specifically with these types of scams. I've received various negative responses from these agencies. I realize that you were not asking me to edit my post. Thank you for all the helpful information on your site; it did help me. I just want it to be known that I will post everything that I know about the PremiumArt scam and note any contact from these people.

I just know that I have to work to near exhaustion to make up for what happened to me, and it will take me a very long time to recover from this blow to my finances. I lost my home, and had to move into a less-than-desirable living enviroment. I just don't understand how these people sleep at night....

Well, anyway, I truly appreciate your concern and help. I hope my post is helping others.
