Shawn I read this and this to anyone who fights these crimes is absolutely horrifying. i hate to say it as long as the internet is around and scammers get more educated the worse it will get. This is exactly why getting the information out the the public in droves is soooo soooo important.

The sadest part of all this is that the scammers get educated on the scams faster than the general public and it isn't even close. Before I stumbled upon this site I had never heard of 90% of the scams listed on here. The only ones I was somewhat familiar with where the fake lottery ones, and that's just because they seemed fishy to me and not because I heard from them from anywhere on the net or TV. Education truly is the key to stopping these scams. The scams themselves don't change all that much, just the places the scammers hit and the stories they use so if the government, SVU, and others spread the word on how to spot the red flags then it should not be all that difficult to stop these scammers.

I agree 100%, and that is why I am trying to push myself, and others, even more to step things up and get more education out there. Contact anyone you know and tell them about these scams, or think of government or media connections that they might have . . . (if your kid used to play hockey with a kid that has a parent that is a sound person for a major media network, talk to them . . . them might know who to talk to so we can get these issues out there)
