I ordered a motherboard and a copy of Windows XP Professional from this person, what I got instead was a CD in a paper sleve with a serial number written on it (turned out to be illegal) and after several weeks gave up on the motherboard. All up I was dudded for over $350 and ebay have been of no help.

Only a search on Usenet turned up some more info on this lowlife -

What items lend themselves to a safer Ebay experience than others? I just unknowingly purchased a stolen phone from ebay. I called my provider before the purchase, and they warned me of this risk. I went ahead because of price and sure enough..
