I wasnt scammed myself, but my mom was. She sent over 35,000 to these people who kept claiming they had a government grant for her...for a YEAR...so my brother finally got ahold of these people and proved to my mom it was a scam...is there anyway to get her money back?? We live in Michigan....if that matters...

I am sorry your mom was scammed. There is no way of getting any of her money back. She needs to be really careful as she may be sent a recovery scam.

We have a page of resources and places you can report the scam to at
http://scamvictimsunited.com/Reporting_scams.htm
but I have to tell you that there is very little chance at getting the money back. That is why one of our missions at this site is to educate people about scams. We often use the media to do that. If you would ever be willing to speak with the media, please contact me privately so that I can get your contact information.

We are also working to encourage lawmakers to change the laws to better protect people from these scams. You can read more about that at http://scamvictimsunited.blogspot.com/2 ... -will.html
