I am in the middle of being scammed. Unfortunately I have already lost some money but fortunately I put it on my credit card and disputed the charge as soon as I figured out it was a scam. Anyways. My "roommate” sent me money grams and my uncle (my lawyer) told me to keep them and cash them. Here are the last couple of e-mails........how and when do I end this. I am moving back to my mom’s house and no longer need a roommate. When do I tell her this? :?:

Elizabeth,

Here is the deal. I am still waiting to hear about the $5000.00 dollar check. I had to borrow money to pay rent, I bounced some checks and had bank fees associated with the bounced checks including yours. And not to mention the $3980 I am out. So I am going to hold on to this money until you/I find out what happened. I am sorry I have to do this but once this matter gets resolvled I will see what I can do for you.

Hi Heather,
I tought i have explain to you before, well i will tel once again, my uncle said there was some money one of his working was ask to redraw but there wasn't enough money in the account so the money was added to the previous redrawing money cos it was outsatndding thas why.
So what did you think i can do now ?
Hope to hear from you

Elizabeth

Elizabeth,

I am sorry I do not understand your e-mail.

At His Feet Heather

What i mean is my uncle as one of his worker to go and redraw some money from his bank but the money was not that much in his account but they didn't tell him since he was not the one who was redrawing. The check he sent you, your bank only deduct the $3980 but they didn't clear it from my uncle's bank thas why the money was not been credited to your account.
But as soon as i got there am gonna solve every damm thing out okay.
Just send the $1000 to my shipping agent so that i can go ahead and book for my flight okay.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Elizabeth

I am sorry I do not trust you anymore and I still do not completely undersatnd. Why are you using me to send money? Can't YOU send money just as easliy as I can? Straighten everything out first then I will help you. If you are in such a hurry why can't you have your uncle send it? Help me understand please.

At His Feet Heather

Well i do undersand you are saying, but here in London is hard to cash a check thas why but he intentionally do so becuase he want to make sure that i truely have a place to stay and he cant issue more than one check at a time thas why the check was more than the rent okay.
Soplease try to understand okay.
Just send the $1000 so that i can over ther as soon as possible then we can figure things out okay.
Hope to hear fromyou soon.
Elizabeth

It sounds like bull to me....I am not sending any more money.

Yor Uncle, a lawyer, told you to cash moneygrams you received in the mail?

Where did your uncle get his education? The money orders were most likely counterfeit.

That was not a good idea . . .

Tell the scammer that the bank found out that the checks are counterfeit, so there is no money to send to them, and that you have given all of the information over to the FBI and Secret Service.
