The check has not arrived yet but I now know that it's counterfeit fake scam after reading the topics on this wonderful forum. I'm really glad that I didn't fall for this. The check will arrive tomorrow I guess, and what should I do with that? Should I just go to my local Police DEPT, or should I just keep it and laugh at it everytime I look at it thinking how close I was about to lose $3500? Is there any penalty for hanging it on my wall? :D What should I do please give me some advice. Thanks...

Sincerely yours,
Enkhbaatar Ochirsuren
Denver, CO

I would not keep it, it has your name on it, if someone were able to steal it and fraudulently cash it, the cops would be looking for you.

Turn it over to the authorities.

Okay, I decided to turn it to SS once it arrives, but I also decided to play with this scumbug to waste his/her time. I'm still acting like I didn't know anything and like I'm trying to cash that for him/her. I wanna see how far he/she goes. What do u guys think of this idea? Is it dangerious since they have my address and cell phone number? I didn't give any bank information or my SSN or anything else. Just my cell phone and address.

Scam Baiting is not a good idea in your case seeing they know who you are and where you are. Please do not attempt to bait unless you know what you are doing and how to properly shield yourself.

Tell the scumbag that you are onto his little scheme and that you have turned the checks over to the Secret Service along with all corresponding email communication records. then block the booger as it is not worth risking harm to you or your family if you anger them.

I recieved the check today and it definitely looked like a scam, so I shredded it and threw it in the garbage. Would this be ok?

This is the chat conversation we've just had after I shredded the check. Thought this might help others to know how well and serious the scammers can act. Sincerely,

let me caution you against going too far with this guy, we do not know where he really is or if he has anyone here in the states working with him. Just block his emails and put him on ignore in messenger. Another draw back and I have seen this happen is that police get wind of what you are doing and next thing you know you are being accused of aiding scammers. If you do not know how to bait properly it can backfire. I would suggest that you go over to 419eater.com and quietly spend time learning the ropes of baiting before attempting to do so on your own.
