After finding myself scammed, violated, angry and frustrated it is time to take action. I first confirmed my scammer on delphiFAQ.com Then contacted the Federal Trade Commission 1-877-382-4357 Contacted match.com at abuse@cc.match.com Filled out the IC3 form on the FBI.gov page Wonderful, helpful people at Canadian Anti Fraud 1-800-495-8501 learned that +4470 numbers are a major red flag when it comes to scams! Personal forwarding phone numbers (also called "UK global redirects") are easily recognized, and they are a major red flag when it comes to identifying scams or scammers. The number is often given in the format +447024013818. The country code, (the +44) seemingly indicates that the number is UK-based number. The 70 prefix, however, identifies it as a personal forwarding number, and that calls are often redirected to Nigeria I contacted all my credit card companies and had fraud alerts put on them. Even though I didn't send any money or give out my address, I am not taking any chances. Googled my name and any sites like peoplefinders.com contacted them and had them remove my name. Some sites will do it right away. With other sites you have to go to your county courthouse and personally ask them and give them written consent. Some things by law can be publish. A great site to get a synopsis of what sites have your records is going to pipl.com and typing in your name I'm trying to find the good, after being so snowed. Maybe it is that it has made me stronger and more aware. I had not a clue before all this happened. Boy, have I learned a lot in the past 2 days. I feel so saddened that there are really people out there like this, that would toy with our hearts and souls! Please know that there are people out there that want to help, and it is reassuring that we all have this site to help each other through! |

Thank-you! This site has been incredibly helpful. I am so stunned how this individual so smoothly made me feel so comfortable. He was attentive with his e-mails. Wrote poems, sent songs, told beautiful stories. That now, to find out it was all a scam, has rocked my world. Scary to think what could have happened. My heart goes out to all the victims, as it leaves one feeling dirty. I think it is so important to remember that these scammers are not necessarily individuals, but scumbags linked to a group of organized criminals. It is not really appropriate to say he did, she did, these are pros working together, using templates that they copy and paste! They are not reinventing the wheel with each of their victims. They are cold and harsh and point blank in it for the money!!!!!! How does one find the ability to trust anyone again? |
