Unfortunately I decided to browse the dating listings on craigslist and contacted a woman who wanted me to verify through a background check. Never one to jump into things, I learned that such sites do exist, although the particular one she wanted me to use not listed. Still wary of a scam I asked her what part of my town she lived in, thinking if it were spam they would not likely know/answer that. Well she did so I read through the smallprint and didn't see anything too bad, just that I would have to cancel some account. Since she appeared legit and the cancellation process seemed easy I went ahead with it. When I filled out my information and entered it the website said that the page could not be displayed. I thought nothing of it and figured "oh well." Well later I get an email from an "adult" website saying my account has been created. The websites cancellation process does not work, I replied an email to the address which notified me of my account and I requested an immediate and absolute cancellation of any subscriptions to my name. Original email to the verification site: "That sounds great that you're still interested, let's get the screen out of the way then, [url, username and password where entered here]. let me know when you pass and we can go from there. you can go ahead and call me if you want because i'll be here, it's going to give you my number anyway." Hope somebody here can help. |

What I was trying to say was there a "contact us" type area on the site so that you could try to contact the admin there and sort this out. |

It seems that I was able to get a cancellation. I simply replied to the email which sent me the account info and requested immediate cancellation. Thanks for the potential help. |
