If you have sent him money, the I would say yes, he is scamming you. I am sorry to have to break the news to you. These scammers will string people along for a long time. He might only ask for a little bit of money here or there, but after several months those little amounts will add up.

I would suggest that you cut off contact. Block his email address if you have to.

CLOSE THAT ACCOUNT RIGHT AWAY! He could run up fees on it and it could go into a negative balance!

Hi Claradeovos63,

I read your tread. I am sorry that you have become a victim of this scam by Stuart C Townsend. Unfortunately a member of my family has fallen for the same man with the same name and email address. He told her exactly the same story, except that he claims to be from the US. Although I brought your story to her attention, she still has a difficulty to believe that she is about to become a victim of the same scam. It would be very helpful if you would kindly forward me any pictures/information of the man so I can convince her that she is indeed dealing with a conman.
I thank you for taking the time to share your experience and I am sure that it would help to prevent others from falling in the same trap.
