Post subject:  Some characteristics of an online dating scam

I am amazed at the number of dating sites running obvious scams and getting away with it. There seems to be no end to the number of guys who pay good money to a dating site and never ever meet a real woman in person but just keep getting lead on by automated scripts showing hot women interested in them.
Here's what you have to watch out for:
1) Gorgeous profile photos. Seriously hot women do not need to register on a dating site and they dont unless they are working girls offering paid services. If a gorgeous babe hits on your profile and she is young and looking for a male between 18-55 yrs and your just an average Joe then the chances are shes a fake.
2) You get constant automated flirts/winks and profile views but seldom any messages. That's because a script is running the fake profiles over yours and thousands of others to keep you interested. No one at the scam company actually has time to send you and thousands of other men a real custom message.
3) While you are a free trial member you gets lots of babes hitting on your profile but when you convert to a paid membership the action goes dead. Thats because the scam site concentrates on converting the trial males to paid members and regard member retention as a lower priority.

There are plenty more scam indicators, this is just a few quick ones.

Good info there. Usually when you think of dating scams you think of the good looking guy/girl who eventually asks for money to be wired to them to help pay bills or help them out when they are stuck in some foreign country. You seldom think about the dating site being a scam by it'self.

That is a good point, the dating site: first i like to say, all the dating sites free or paid one have scammers on, in most cases the owner don't really care because they own a business and a business it's to make money. See how it works: For the ladies it is most of the time free registration, scammers or not they send you message and you guys have to pay to answer them...so the site is starting to make money at this point,,,but the scammers them they can send almost 100 messages in the first hour they are online and certain % of man will pay to be a member just to answer them. So up to now only 2 are making money, the site owner and the scammers. So even if you tell the admin of the site to remove a profile because you got scam, they might do it but after a certain time and even the very popular dating sites don't rush to remove them and even if they do, the scammers come back and caught some other innocents. Billions of $$$$$ are gone with the scamming stories every year....The only way to prevent the scammers for the dating site admin or owner it is to do it manually and i know only one dating site that is doing that but it doesn't mean that is no scammer on her site but a lots less because this dating site owner also manage and own an anti-scammer site. But for all the rest they just don't give a crap if you get scam or not as long they make money, that is the most important for them. So it is not safer on a pay site...
