i was on this site called meet your messenger where people can chat with other people that have msn an di came accross this girl called benizer ( her email addy is benizerjesika@hotmail.com and i was supprised at hwo quick she replied to my message of:
'hey u look very beautiful fancy chattin sumtime?'

well we chatted for a few hours and i found out she lived in maine in america. but next time i spoke to her which was the next day she sed she was goin away to study in nigeria for a few weeks!
we were talkin regulaly for about a week when she sed i need ur help and i needed money cos all my food has run out so i became suspicious because ive heard of these scams before!

but instead of me sending her money she sed she would send me a cheque for £5500 and then when i had banked it to send her only £400 back and keep the rest for when she came to visit!
i was a little suprised and being the fool i said ok and sure enough the next week a cheque turned up for £5500! now i havent banked it nor have i sent any money to her but i was wondering if this cheque was real or if its a fake? i mean wat would happen if i banked it and then just not speak to her again?

i reli need sum help with this im sure theres someone who can help me out there!!!

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CASH THAT CHEQUE! - It's Fake!!
I would advise not to communicate with this person anymore.
If they do attempt to make contact with you, do not reply.
This person obviously has your address, but it is extremely unlikely anyone will turn up on your doorstep asking about the cheque.

The cheque would appear to clear, in that the money will appear in your account. So you withdraw the money, and send it via western union to this person. Then, a few days or weeks later your bank discovers the cheque is fake, and the money is deducted from your account, leaving you thousands out of pocket. To make matters worse, there may be police involvement, as you attempted to pass a fake cheque.
This person is almost certainly not female. Stop communicating with this person now. Going forward, never, ever hand out you personal details to any person you encounter on the net who asks for it - you are now at risk of identity theft.

If you bank the check and DO NOT spend the money nothing will really happen, because in a few weeks when the check is found to be counterfeit the bank will just take the money back out of your account.

If you bank the check and spend the money, then the bank will demand that you repay them the money once they find out that it is counterfeit.

If you want to get rid of her, just tell her that the bank told you that the check was counterfeit.
