I must say... u guys are lying about where u meet the girls so that u wont look stupid. The truth is u meet them in adult video chat rooms and not myspace, u pay them for shows, and then u act like victims.
Surely this would be pointless?
Why would anyone want to publicly admit to being scammed, it they didn't believe it to be the case themselves?
Surely is not a sin to be scammed. It's more of a leap of faith. I sincerely believe that expressing your faults is the bravest anyone can do... it's hard to accept being taken advantage of and everyone has been in some point of their lives....
Personally, I met a woman from Romania in a online chat room, not a very public or popular chat sight, meaning not very many people visit. My story is... I met this woman and have been chatting with her for nearly 3 months, since January off and on... she's a student and I can honestly say has her head on, intelligent and sincere. Yes, she asked me for money... she also asked for my home address, which I did not provide... I just keep changing the subject. A couple weeks later I asked for her address so I could send a gift to her for her birthday... but that never happened, I ended up sending her $300 USD; I see it being charitable not a loss. I asked for her phone number because Western Union required it along with her name... she would have needed to provide proof of her identity in oder to receive the monies, unless Western Union is part of the scam ring (I don't know if it's truely a scam or not, just a thought). So... I received an email from her thanking me and claiming she is very very glad she had met me, so yeah, I was very pleased to help.
So weeks go by and we email back off and on... no real concern about scams or being taken advantage of. Ok... so, just a week or two ago I receive an email regarding a serious injury, which happened to a dear friend, requesting money. I felt bad, but.... the hospital should be able to cope with the expenses and still treat their patients, as for what I know I could be wrong about that. That event would have cost 50 USD over the last amount I sent, so 350 USD.... since then I've been very cautious... ignored the email for a couple days and received an email from an alternate address (same domain) stating her email has been blocked for security reasons.... that brought up a red flag... Ok... so she was a very beautiful woman and I was kind of hoping to meet her when I visited Europe, but now... who knows what to think... I really don't have a emotional tie to this and I sympathize with those who have fell victim to something to this nature.... but you need to draw a line, no matter how desperate in love you are. I can relate, but not... I tend to be cautious, yet i'm very friendly and understanding towards a persons needs, but when it comes to excessive begging for money, I draw the line and there is no real relationship but for the need of that almighty dollar.
The initial 300 USD I sent... I'm not too worried about and feel very good, but if the money was part of a scam then I'm glad to warn other individuals. It's been nearly a week since I received an email from her, I just sent an email to follow up with her and point out my thoughts about the money thing and informed her I "could" report it to the Romanian authorities. Just have to see how that turns out... for now, I have no intentions on reporting this because I honestly do not believe I was being scammed. I guess, I'll have to wait to see on the reply and go from there.
It's sad to see people lower themselves to a dishonest living as scamming honest people just making an attempt to make a friend from another country. I believe in diversity and cultural harmony, we all live life the same way (live and die) and some whore life (millionaire capitalists). Karl Marx said it the best.... society would be better, equal pay and opportunity for everyone and help teach those who are gluttons of wealth. No... you do not need a 250,000 - 500,000 USD salary to be a surgeon or a lawyer, just to be helpful... if you want to be a Dr or Lawyer and are TRULY sincere about life then you should not care about the money. Everyone should be given the same wealth as everyone else, no matter where you live.
