Why do people put these in their bank account and not cash them at a P.O.? If it's a bad money order, they'll tell you right away. If they cash it, they'll be hard pressed to find you to get their money back. 100% butt coverage right there.

After reading through these posts I'm having a hard time feeling sorry for some folks. NEVER, EVER deal with anyone outside a protected environment, NEVER, EVER respond to "spam", and NEVER, EVER send anything to anyone without being 1000% sure it's a legitimate deal. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I've also never been scammed nor have I had my identity stolen.

Because you want the money in your checking account you go to the bank to depsit it. Why would I go to the Post office to cash the money order and then go to the bank to deposit the money into my account if I could just do it all in one stop?

Agreed . . . but what about the people who are selling items online? That is not SPAM that they are getting, it is a person answering their online advertisement.

Again, I would agree, but the question is when are you 1000% sure? I check could come back MONTHS later as counterfeit and then you are liable. How long is long enough to wait to know that it is legit?

I am glad that you have not had to go through the nightmare situations that many other have had to go through.
