Post subject:  Ebay and Counterfeit Wal*Mart Money Orders

I recently sold stuff on ebay.com and had this one odd buyer tell me he wanted the items and would send me a money order. well a few months later, I received 2 money orders totalling $5000 but the item was not worth that much.

On suspicion, I went to Wal*Mart to see if they were good, found out they were previously cashed for lesser amounts.

Is there anything I can do to help to catch the culprit(s)?

i recorded voice messages when he called me and I dont know how he got my phone # and saved/copied all documents and emails.

thanks!
HT

IF the culprits are overseas there is little that you can do to catch them. They hide behind fake names, fake addresses, and cloaked IP addresses. Our government has little to no authority to just go in another country and arrest someone even if they can find them.

Be thankful that you got suspicious and asked questions first before putting the money orders in your bank account and ending up owing the bank.

Cut all communications with these people and move in with life, beware that ebay is less than cordial when helping with auctions gone wrong when it involves a deal overseas. Same with paypal.

You are best to sell your items to people in your own home country where you have the law to back you up.
