I was contacted about a computer I was selling about a week ago and I was right off suspisious. He had a very "american" name but his grammer and english skills were very bad RED FLAG. next he offered me more than I asked for RED FLAG. third he said that he wanted to pay me with a USPS money order RED FLAG. and Fourth he wanted to handle the shiping with his own FedEx account RED FLAG. but I cautiously proceded with the deal and told him that he would have to send me the money order and after it cleared with my bank then I would ship him the computer. he said that was fine and I gave him my address so that he could send me the money order. this is what I got instead...

It looks very convincing however there are a few major flaws

1st that address does not exist.

2nd there isn't a phone number to call

3rd when tracing the IP of the other emails that he sent me they came from out of country and not Vegas.

4th upon sooking at the code behind the E-mail it was built using images from all across the internet. some even from Google image serches

5th my father works for the post office and neather him, or his manager had ever heard of this.

finally earlier today I got a call from the postal inspectors conferming that it is a fake.

so there you go. do your home work.

USPS money orders have been counterfeited in quantity for a while now. I would be surprised if anybody in the USPS has not heard of this scam

I thought the same thing with the counterfiet cashier check scam . . . how could people who work in a bank and handle these checks on a daily basis NOT know about this scam, but a lot of them do not.
