Post subject:  BIG NEWS!

I got a call yesterday from the National Consumer's League, and they are teaming up with the Banking Association to launch an public awareness campaign this August! I have been waiting two years for something like this!

If you would like to help, they are interested in speaking with recent victims. If you would like to be included on this list of victims that they may possibly contact, this is what I need you to do . . . send me a private message from this board with ALL of the following information . . .

Your name
Your address
Your phone number
The best time of day to contact you at that number
A summary of your story

If ANY of the above information is not included then will probably not be able to contact you in time for this campaign.

Thanks! :D

would I even qualify seeing I chose not to deposit the checks into my bank due to the hold time being so long??? on the flip of this it has costed us 10 months and thousands of dollars to defend ourselves. Though the checks were never cashed and the scammer got nothing we have taken a huge financial hit to prove that we had NO intent to defraud anyone.

I think that they want to talk with people who lost money to the scam, but if you already have a "summary" of your story that you would like to send me with all of your contact info I can email it to my contact . . . the worst they can say is "No thanks"

Any response?

It is a shame that they are only interested in those who lost money to the scammers, many of us have lost literally thousands of dollars defending ourselves because of the crap these scammers have gotten us into legally.

Our tab thus far is near 15K between legal fees and borrowed moneys for rent and bills. we lost our business, credibility with customers and suppliers, it was difficult to find jobs because most in florida do background checks and the current chgs show. Think of it , someone comes to you and you see Grand Theft charges open on them, would you trust them in your business? Regardless of the circumstances?

I was lucky and found a company that gave me a chance, but my husband is not that lucky. I am the only supporting income and a few hundred a week does not go far.

I guess they have distributed the press kits etc. so we'll have to see what happens over the next few months.
I'm interested in the article that California Reporter was supposed to publish last Sunday.
Any feedback there?
