Had a call from a John Manning with Bremer Financial in LA, proposing a good price for my old stocks... their website is http://www.bremerfinance.com,
I checked on web and found there is NO Bremer Finance in CA, only in Minnesota, with different logo and info... I checked on Whois and found out their website was created end january 2007 and is hosted by Agora in Istanbul, Turkey... see below

Domain Name: BREMERFINANCE.COM
Registrar: DIRECT INFORMATION PVT LTD D/B/A PUBLICDOMAINREGISTRY.COM
Whois Server: whois.PublicDomainRegistry.com
Referral URL: http://www.PublicDomainRegistry.com
Name Server: NS1.AGORAHOSTING.COM
Name Server: NS2.AGORAHOSTING.COM
Status: clientTransferProhibited
Updated Date: 31-jan-2007
Creation Date: 30-jan-2007
Expiration Date: 30-jan-2008

So be very cautious if you get calls on a poor quality voice line, at around 3AM Pacific time, from a Guy with a Non-US English accent since he's just after YOUR Money !

I have been phoned by a David Green from Bremer Finance. This seems to be a poor quality scam emulating the Heritage Financial Scam of 2005. The client list seems to come from EMC Corporation share list, originating from a company in Cyprus, called Clarkson Gordon. Bremer's paperwork suggests that my shares in EMC are validated to be worth several thousand dollars by a Frank Taylor - Officer in Charge at the United States Share of Registry. This document has a fuzzy official style eagle stuck at the top left hand corner. They're offering Apple stocks, but you have to buy in to make up the numbers. This is an active scam, so should be traceable by a US Gov. dept. Any ideas who?
