Post subject:  Versacheck,Printing checks Scam

I posted about Versacheck scam yesterday.they send us lists,we type out checks then send UPS overnight air. They bought & shipped all our materials to us.We did NOT have to buy materials like other people did.I thought this might be different & legit.UPS confiscated the checks & sent them to the government.I found this out when I tracked the number.I talked to UPS . UPS security just called me. This is a scam!THe UPS accounts used were stolen from real businesses. The checks do not cash.the bank exists(I checked) ,but the account used does not exist.THe name of fake business is UKcars4sales.Management Allied Textiles LTD.;Preston Works ;Prestonpors EastLothian Scotland. His IM was Shipping company item,John Terry. He had a working phone no.He has my address & phone no. unfortunately. My daughter has quit her company & is trying to get paid for her work to see what they will do.I haven't heard from John Terry at all today. We will see if they actually pay for work done now.Update:We were contacted by United States Postal Inspection Services Criminal Investigations Service Center. They want us to give all info on this scam.Address is :222 SOuth Riverside Plaza ,Suite 1250,Chicago ,IL 60606-6100.You can send info on mail scams to them to investigate.

Many scammers will use people, like yourself, as a middle man to hide their tracks. The checks that you were mailing out were going to the victims of the people who end up sharing their stories in the Counterfeit Cashier's Check section of this board.

July 2009, I had occasion to interview a potential victim of this VersaCheck printing scam, for an article we published at CyberCrimeOps [here]. The interview exposed a great deal about what this type of scam is all about. Well worth a read if you have time.

Hi, I know this thread is old but I tried to apply to a job on Craigslist and received texts from Versacheck with the same description. I was suspicious that it was a scam and found this website and thread. The guy said his name was Ben Lucas and said I would make $1000/month processing 80-150 checks per day and dropping them off at my local UPS dropbox. He contacted me from the number 1-110-440-601. I told him I wasn't interested and haven't heard anything back, but I thought I should report it somewhere.

That is the same guy that was trying to scam me. I guess he backed down asap when I asked for pictures. I did email the real Tim Parsons to let him know that someone was using his name and call he thanked me for the heads up. you guys in the UK should catch this guy and used him for crab bait.
