Post subject:  possible teaching job-offer scam

Hi-
I'm not sure if this is a scam or not. I thought it was legit at fist, but now I'm not sure as I've now gotten the same email twice but with two different links. I have altered the color of the original email to differentiate it from my comments:

Hello xxxxxxx, [I have deleted my name here]

We are currently seeking Special Education Assistant Instructors, and, after reviewing your resume, I see that you meet our initial qualifications.

I would really like to hear back from you today, if possible. Please click on the link below, where you can view more information about the position, our company, and send in your application as an interested candidate
.

[I have deleted the complete link, but the main site is realcareers-now.com. The first time I got it - last week - the link was to
thebeyond comparejobs.com. At the end of both links was the same 7-digit number.]

xxxxxxx [my first name again], to avoid being flooded with applications and responses, I have only extended this position to a few people, and would like to start the interview process as soon as I possibly can. We will discuss salary and benefits if you decide to interview with us.

I hope to receive your application later today!

Best Regards,
L. Barclay
Office Manager

The first ended:
Best of Luck,
L. Barclay
Dean of Students

No indication as to whether L. Barclay is male or female. (plus, whoever this person is gave two different job titles for him/herself). Also, no information on the school (when I clicked the link, it said the employer was classified) and no email address to reply to. Emails to the first one get bounced. I have not emailed the second one. I do have a teachigtn certificate and experience teaching special needs children, which is on my resume. The more I write in here, the mroe this looks like a scam. Thoughts?

I have not heard of a scam yet that is for a teaching job, but that does not mean this one is not a scam (you could just be the first person to contact us about it)

You are right, those differences and errors do send up red flags. Did they ever say the name of the school/company that you would be teaching at? Is that a real school/company in your area?

P.S. I am going to move this message to the employment scam section of the board.
