Hi, I have just been added to the fools list. I received a letter just like the ones I 've finished reading from this website. The letter contains the same information and it indicates that I will be sending the Money to a "Julian with my last name in the United States or Canada (Please call for clarification). I called prior to making the deposit and Stuart David, research coordinator, asked for me to call back on Monday for more instructions. This made it legit. Yesterday, I made the deposit into an unused account. Today, I decided to look for the nearest Moneygram store and I saw the word Scam, that did it for me. Now I belive that I have fallen into a trap. My concern is what happens now that the check is in the account. What am I liable for or what can I do? I have reported this case to the FTC.gov and now to this website. Have anyone else gone this far and what has been the results??????

Did you wire the money yet? If not, and the money is still in the account, then you will be fine. If not, get a new bank account NOW and turn off any direct deposits into that other account. Then go here

and to the FAQ's section of this board and read the post about what to do once you find you are a victim of these scams.

No, I have not, I just made the deposit. I have to wait until tomorrow to see what happened to the check. Thank you for your response. It is incredible how we fall into these scams...
