Hi, I have not engaged with this company yet, but have had no luck in finding any info on them. They got my home and email addresses from carreerbuilder.com and sent me the following email: Hello! I am Steve and I am a senior eRecruiter with ICC eCommerce Company. I got your email from the CareerBuilder website. Come join us! We're opening a new work- at- home position and are looking for energetic, well-organized individuals with good communication skills to join our new eCommerce team! Our goal is to set and maintain high standards in the development of existing and new markets. I am pleased to say that we have just signed several exclusive contracts with prospective software developers which require accurate and professional processing of their sales transactions via ProPay and similar systems. These vendors represent dozens of the best selling products listed in the most popular software catalogues, resulting of hundreds of transactions every month. I’ve noticed that you are experienced with ProPay and you may be interested in working for a professional company that respects and rewards your efforts. We can offer you a challenging and exciting career with an excellent salary and benefits package! - A base salary of $30.00 per hour; - Extra commission in increments of 9.00% for each eTransaction processed; What does this mean for you? Sincerely, Steve McDaniel (484) 727-2767 steve@iccecommerce.com ICC eCommerce Solutions http://www.iccecommerce.com P.S. If this isn't the right time for you then please keep in touch – and feel free to pass this message along to current or previous colleagues who may be interested. Referrals are always welcome, and are greatly appreciated! After some emails back and forth, I find that this company wants me to invoice, or bill people who need to renew license codes for software, using my propay or paypal account. They do not say whether this invoicing will continue through my accounts after the 14 day "probationary period". I was sent a list of invoices to send out, but since my propay account has limits on it, I am hesitant to do so. They tell me to take my commission and 3.00 off the top for the processing fees, and they will pay via paycheck to my Paypal account when paid twice a month. This all sounds wonderful, but the first alarm bell came when I looked at the header for the original email tome and found a different email address from a different domain. I wanted to check here before going further, since I cannot find any info on this business aside from their formal website: http://www.iccecommerce DOT com and this one which uses the email suffix of the sender: iccteam DOT com I am awaiting more instructions from the person and verification of a legitimate business that I requested. Any help would be wonderful, and finding this forum has been helpful already! Thank you |

This company claims to have been in business for 5 years yet there's no information on them whatsoever. The phone number according to their website is a "fax" number and it originates in Pennsylvania not in NY where this company is supposedly located. Paypal can be added to anyone's site for free to collect payments, therefore legitimate companies would not need an outsider to process their payments for them. Another red flag is the domain name is brand new (created August 18, 2007) and the contact is in California??? When I Googled the admin phone number found below (+1.5105952002) all kinds of payment processing scams came up related to that exact number. Also the domain that the email goes to (myprivateregistration.com) does not exist. This is a money transfer job scam. Thank you so much ximora, I appreciate your help very much. I did check the domain, and came up with the same info. I also found that the domain had expired previously so that was interesting, not that it really means much, just that the site they are presenting is not 5 years old. I also thought it was fishy for them to ask you to use your own propay and paypal accounts and not even inquire what the limits on the accounts were, if any. I have many other emails from this person and plan on reporting them, but they also made it sound as if you would be logging into an interface of theirs to do the invoicing, which sounded better, but they had no intention of that at all. Hello? I've worked with Paypal for a long time, and the thought that they didn't need me to process an order flew right out the window, so even people who think they know a thing or two can be taken. That is the lesson I've learned. Boy, I have been in business online for almost 7 years, and can usually spot something off, but due to an unfortunate turn of events in my life, I am desperately seeking employment and almost fell for this. I am ashamed, but also thankful I had somewhere to get opinions. I've taken some steps to protect my accounts, and hope it will be enough since they got no other info from me. Job seekers, be careful out there. Again, thanks so much for helping me out. |

One more thing worth mentioning. Although I mentioned a job search, I have no account at careerbuilder.com, so they got my email from my website! |

I'm sure we all know Western Union is synonymous with scam these days... but it was interesting to see the events unfold. I'm gonna continue with my spirit of trolling them (as I did on my first brush with the 419 was about in 2005) in conjunction with posting on http://www.419eater.com/html/419faq.htm |
