Yes, it's definitely fake. Some of the major red flags include the fact that legitimate lotteries do not notify winners by email, you cannot win a lottery if you did not enter/buy a ticket. There is no such thing as an international lottery. The complexity of gaming/gambling laws from country to country prevents such a thing.

If you answer the email, after one or two email exchanges with the so-called "lottery officials" or "claims agent," perhaps accompanied by some official looking but fake documents, you'll be asked to pay fees for "taxes" or "handling" or some other reason. This is the scam - you pay the fees and never see any winnings, mainly because there are none to see.

Why would any lottery care about these factors?

Occupation...................................................

5.Languages Spoken......................................

6.Religion........................................................

7.Age................................................................

This is them gathering more information on you to scam you again later.

I've lost my edit button. Hmm. Anyways, the scammers don't really care about your occupation, religion, age, etc. They just care about sucking your bank account dry.

They very much care abour your occupation, religion and age. If you are a professional writer they will try pretend to be with a publisher, if you are Baptist they try to get to you by being a Baptist, if you are older they are trying to sell you prescriptions cheap. Any information they can get they will use.

If you ask me, both armac and Sarah Price are right . . . what they want is your money/to suck your bank account dry, but they will use anything that the can to get to that "goal" like pretending to be someone who can help you further your career, who wants to buy your product, rent your house/apartment etc. They use any details that they can get from you to your money from you.

So like I said, you are BOTH right.
