Hey guys, so I really don't know what I should do about this and would greatly appreciate any input... On March 5th I signed up through a government website to apply for my passport. Basically how that worked was I had to input all my personal information online (on the .gov website) where they would then e-mail you the paper application with all that information to print out and bring to a courthouse to apply for a passport. So on March 9th I find that my Yahoo e-mail account has been accessed and hacked from someone in CA (I'm in FL). At first it was just a nuisance because they spam e-mailed everyone on my contacts list, BUT now that e-mail with all my personal information for my passport is missing! I know it was in my inbox, as I have accessed it once before, but now it's nowhere to be found (not in trash or spam either) I just noticed it was missing today when I went to finally print it out. This application has personal information such as my SSN, birth date, family relations, etc. Should I sign up for an identity theft service ASAP or are there other precautions I should also take? Thanks to anyone who can help give some advice on this problem!! |
