I almost fell victim to the Nigerian scam over a sale using craigslist.

BUT, not soon enough. These people now have my name, phone number, and address. Do I need to be worried?

If I do need to be worried, is there anything Ican do?

Did you give them your bank account info or your ssn? If not you are fairly safe there. If all they have is your name phone and adcress just to be safe put a fraud flag on each credit report and report the scam attempt to the local police. get a copy of that report for safe keeping.

Do not provoke these people in any way just stop answering phone calls or emails from them. They will move on eventually.

i had given my scammer some bank account information and he somehow obtained my SSN from there so guaranteed your SSN is located somewhere in the driver records .. i would definitely put an initial fraud alert on your credit report .. i did it and i get a free report within the 90 days thats it on there .. and try as best you can to have your local police department fill out a report .. good luck

They may also have fraudulently obtained merchandise shipped to your house, and quite possibly without you even knowing, have another shipping company come and get it within minutes of the drop off. They do this all the time. Have UPS drop it off. They confirm the drop off, and have DHL pick it up and ship it overseas. Be careful!
