I think this TNT thing needs to get out in the media! Some of you should contact your local media and let them know what happened. Most channels have an investigative reporter or a consumer news section that would probably do a story on this.

I was THISCLOSE to falling for this scam the other day. A Philips 42 inch flat screen TV listed in Ventura County, CA..."Susan" had just moved to Wolverhampton, United Kingdom and needed to get rid of the TV. Following my mom's advice of "If it seems too good to be true than it probably is" , I did a google search of "experience with TNT" and found this website. THANK GOD!!! I was about 2 hours from going to the Western Union and sending my money away to these awful people. So, after recieving repeadted emails from "Susan" asking me for updates I wrote back to her today:

Hi Susan (if that is your real name)

I am no longer interested in the TV because you are a dishonest, lying b****. It might be time for you to change your story b/c it is out. I'm sending you the link where I found out about your bogus scam. Have a great day you heartless b****! I hope you rot in hell :)

I swear I am usually not this mean but this really rubbed me the wrong way! Somebody needs to put a stop to this!

That is great that you found us, and that you did not get scammed.

I can understand being upset with the scammers . . . I was there once too.

Could I ask that if you do ever have any other communication with them you don't mention our site? This is a way of life for them, so they are not going to stop, they are just going to change some of the information slightly . . . if they do that some of the same terms that victims goggled to find us/these posts may no longer help, since the scammers would be using different information.

Thanks,

Not to mention if the scammers get mad enough at this site for having put a dent in their pocketbook that they may set up a DOS attack here and shut the site down for a few days.

The same type of scam is now being put up, except I ran across it as a complete set of Magic the Gathering Beta Cards. The chap wanted 2k for a set that is well worth over 7k. I'll send him a nice email.

Wow glad to have found this site because now she is Susan, here is the email sent to me about a Mac Book on craig's list

Hello

I still have the laptop.
I have attached some pics with the laptop to this e-mail. I am now in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom.
Since I can't meet you and make the exchange, I would like to use a service that will help us with that:

http://www.tnt.com/tnt.express.wolverha ... tails.html

TNT is a worldwide delivery company (like Fedex, DHL or UPS). You can see from their procedure that you will be able to check the laptop before I receive the payment. If you are in a hurry, I will use 2 day delivery (shipping is on me).

Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Susan

I actually fell for the TNT scammers....but I still got my money back from the nice folks at Western Union thanks to the posts on this website. Not that there aren't enough posts concering the frauds in Wolverhampton, here is another...

Hello

I still have the TV. The TV was set up for the US and it comes with 18 months of warranty.
I have attached some pics with the TV to this e-mail. I am now in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom.
Since I can't meet you and make the exchange, I would like to use a service that will help us with that. Please go here to see the procedure:

TNT is a worldwide delivery company (like Fedex, DHL or UPS). You can see from their procedure that you will be able to check the TV before I receive the payment. If you are in a hurry, I will use 2 day delivery (shipping is on me).

Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Susan

There are two other e-mails that follow..up to the point where I actually SENT the money. I filed a fraud report with Western Union after they helped me out big time with a full refund. I'll be the first to admit that I used very bad judgement, I hope others check out these posts and avoid the mistake that I made. Good luck!

Did the Western Union employee tell you that it was a scam, or did you figure it out and go back to them?

Also, can you post the email address the scammer is using, or any other info that you have on him. Others may google that information and then they will find your post.

Cheap Apartment Rental on Craigslist SCAM TNT:

Thank you for your interest. I have available the apartment located at 3700 Orleans Ave. New Orleans, LA 70119.It has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen and 1 living room, square ft. 990-1620.I am looking for someone to live in it, as soon as possible, because my company has won the auction for a project, in construction, for a building that will rise up in Cambridge, United Kingdom. I am a civil engineer, so my accommodation period in UK will be about 4 years. The renting period is from 1 month up to 4-6 years. As a result of this I want to rent, for this period, at this price and also to find the perfect person for my apartment. I`m the owner of the apt and it's like in the pictures. The apartment is unfurnished but if you want you can use my furniture from the storage unit. The rent for 1 month is $600 (for the whole apartment) including all utilities (water, electricity, Internet, cable, parking, air conditioning, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, refrigerator). You can move in the apt in the same day when you receive the keys. The only problem is that I`m the only person who has the keys but I hope that we will find a solution.

Thank you for your interest and I will look forward to hearing from you soon.

SECOND EMAIL

Thank you for your reply.Like I have informed you before, the price you have to pay for one month of rent will be $600.00 with no extra fees you will have access to all facilities provide by the building. The utility bills are paid directly from my bank account. The price will not increase monthly; it will remain the same for the whole period that the contact will be signed for. We can start with a basic 1 year contract with the possibility of renewing it or with the period of time suitable for you.About the payment, I would like to receive it monthly into my bank account and I hope there will be no problem for you to wire the money to it. The apartment is ready for you, you only need to receive the keys and the contract so you could check it out, and see if you like it. The apt will be unfurnished but it can be rented very easily with the furniture at the same price.Since I'm Cambridge we need a way to complete this deal that will allow us to make sure we receive what we are asking for. I have found a way for us to complete the deal safely and fast, and in this way you will receive the Keys in less than 2 days. The solution is provided by a company called TNT which is similar to FedEx, DHL or UPS, which will handle the payment and delivery of the Keys.
I have found a procedure that will allows you to pay for the rent of the apt only after you will receive the keys, and through this way you will see it and decide if you like it or not, before sending the payment. Please click on the link bellow to the TNT web site to see how we can complete the deal safely and fast directly from the web site of the company where this procedure is explained: http://www.tnt.com/express/en_gb/site/h ... ivery.html

Let me know if you are interested,

WHAT A BUNCH OF LOSERS! If there is one thing that I can not stand, it is a lying cheat. Needless to say, my response was not very kind!

My wife was recently scammed attempting to purchase a mac pro 15.4" laptop. She feels awful and this effort is our therapy. It did not feel too good to be true and she rushed into sending a Western Union transaction for $575 after getting distracted for one week. She feared the opportunity might be lost if she did not pay quick so she raced into payment after some quick survey. She actually feared that TNT was a scam and searched on the net and found the legitimate site prior to payment. This provided confidence and we have actually never had a bad internet purchase experience. Well the cash was picked up 7 days ago, the laptop has not arrived, and Western Union advised us to call the local police. We consider ourselves sharp individuals and we feel awfulll.

We will take comfort if this note finds and saves one good person.

Reagards,

Houston Texas
Here are the e-mails that "Susan" sent

Hi

I went to TNT today. The guys from TNT told me that they will send the laptop to their technical department for inspection and then they will notify you. They will also notify you with the instructions you need to complete your end of the deal. Please complete your end as soon as you can and keep me posted.

Thanks,
Susan

Hi

I see that you don't know how our deal will work out. Did you read TNT's procedure on their website? It is explained there how their service works. Let me know after you read their procedure so I can be certain that we are on the same page:

Thanks,
Susan

not real sure where i fall in to this scam catagorie(sorry always was bad speller)

but i have a folder i was throwing all the scam emails i was getting got over 100 in there most are from south africa saying some1 with my last name worked in this big company and had no relatives in the country and they wanted to send me the money from their bank account if id split it with them

heres an example

Dear Blackwell,

My name is Mr. William Dudusab, a Banker with one of the leading banks here in Abidjan Cote d'Ivoire West Africa ; I am the personal accounts manager to Mr. Alan Blackwell. Who used to be a contractor with an oil servicing company based here in Cote Ivoire. My client, his wife, and their three children were involved in the ill fated Kenya Airways crash in the coasts of Abidjan on 30th January 2000 in which all passengers on board died. Since then I have made several inquiries to locate any of my clients extended relatives but has been unsuccessful. I decided to trace his last name over the internet, to see if I could locate any member of his family hence I contacted you, of particular interest is this large deposit with our bank here, where the deceased has an account valued at about ($6 million US dollars)

They have issued me a notice to provide the next of kin or the bank will declare the account unserviceable and thereby send the funds to the government treasury. Since I have been unsuccessful in locating the relatives for over last 6 years now, I seek your consent to present you as the next of kin of the deceased since you have the same last names, so that the proceeds of this account valued at ($6million US dollars) can be paid to you and then you and I can share the money. All I require is your honest cooperation to enable us seeing this deal through. I guarantee that this will be executed under all legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law. If you can handle this with me please I need your response with your contact such as phone and fax number for more discussions.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
Best Regards
Mr William Dudusab.

i got screwed(sorry language)(thro my sister) cause she was in contact with one guy who sent her 2 money orders for a total of $1500 USD
she cashed them against my payees account(im on disability) i had to pay it back since it was my diability account that was used to cash them she refuses to repay me even with court order bank cant do nething since she spent the money
