Anyone heard of this one? Someone I know asked me if I could look into it, or have the people I know here look into it.

This is the info I got from my source:
They claim to negotiate for the buyer and seller and hold the money in
escrow until the funds are real etc to prevent scams. There is no address
on this site just a phone number. There is no privacy policy on this site
although they ask people to sign up with their name address and
email. They accept credit cards and Paypal they say. They don't say
anything about their security on the site or if they are bonded or have any credentials to do escrow. They also say they will ship cars a hundred
miles for free.

I've heard of this one - infact, I was commissioned by the owner to design the original infastructure of the site. All of his claims, best to my knowledge are absolutely true. The site is run by some classic car buffs who broker vehicles in real life, then decided they could make a lot more by bringing their brokerage business to the web.

I must say that they always paid their bills on time for all the development work I did - so nothing bad to say about them at all. As for credentials regarding escrow holding - they do have an escrow account with their local financial institution to hold all monies until both parties are satisified with the deal. As far as I know - there is no actual monies exchanged throgh their website - all escrow payments are done by the buyer direct to their bank over the phone.

I have just sent "Admin" a question about why he would talk bad about a company that has been in business since 1976 and has sold hundreds of classic and muscle cars. We developed the protype of RareRide.com to get our process down and to look for better ways to help our sellers sell more rides. We are scheduled to launch our new site in Febuary and will have our address of (107 E. Cedar St., Bristol, TN 37620) posted on the site along with our phone number (423-340-1869). Our Escrow account is with First Tennessee Bank and will confirm with anyone interested. If anyone has any questions please contact me personally. Why?

Looks interesting...the DNS records show that the site is only registered for 2 years. Most scam sites are registered for the shortest amount of time possible. (1 or 2 years.)

I was not "talking bad" about your company. If you read the post someone contacted ME asking ME if I knew anything about this site. They listed some things about the site and asked ME if I could throw it out there for the people on the message board who are better at checking into sites and letting people know if they look legit or not. (of course I would not contact you directly and ask "Are you guys legit?" because we all know that every scam site would reply telling us how long they have been in business and that they are legit.

Furthermore, if you read the post by Beacherboy they sing your praises, so I would take that as Beacherboy saying you are legit . . . so again, I don't see where anything "bad" was posted about your site.
