Open Letter to all interested in stopping internet fraud:
Subject: Have a plan.

Many internet registrars are now hiding the registrant information. Would have no problem with this except the information is always unverified and on fraud websites it is always false. Victims of identity theft cannot know that many fraud webpage are registered in their name, perhaps using credit also in their name. This problem of unverified webpage ownship has continued for many years without any solution. It does no good at all for concerned individuals to spend their days arguing with abuse@somehost.com about a webpage only to have the registrars register three more identical pages with different names on different webhosts.

Proposal: All of us agree to follow this plan -

We need to all work together to convince Bob Parsons, GoDaddy, to change their policies and procedures to verify each registration. This can be done the way my online bank did it, one simple snail mail. GoDaddy can ignore me but can they ignore 100 of us ? We can give them a deadline to establish policies and procedures to protect the public.

"As a hosting provider, we cannot be expected to judge the alleged illegal activities you have mentioned. However, we are more than happy to quickly comply with any court-issued order, or official request by law enforcement (whose burden it is to determine the existence of illegal activities). We regularly work with courts and law enforcement from the local to the international level. As a result, we would recommend you seek an injunction from a court as the most efficient way to handle this situation."

Okay, so they won't. We have to all agree that there are only two sides in this war on internet fraud. If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem. We, the people, do not consent to be silent victims.

GoDaddy has IPO in progress. This is Initial Public Offering to investors. We need to all agree to try to make this company worthless. We can complain to the SEC and underwriters that GoDaddy is engaged in fraud and racketeering and should not be allowed to offer stock to public. We can encourage and assist all victims of identity theft related to GoDaddy websites to actually file lawsuits. We, if get organized, can file suit too, based on damages to business of all our members. We can post in all the internet forums advising investors not to buy the stock and make them aware that we are working for the stock price to go to zero. We can ask state and federal officials to begin investigations of fraud and racketeering at GoDaddy. We can ask all members of the media to do a story about internet registrars making false registrations and then hiding the information.

All interested parties can join one umbrella group to accomplish this. Lets call it the Internet Fraud Association ? If we can break the largest registrar we can say to the others, clean up or close up.

This is still a rough draft but i think you get the idea -

"You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? "Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit." A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor [can] a bad tree bear good fruit. "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. "Therefore by their fruits you will know them." Matthew 7:15-20

so my local traffic cop is supposed to be internet fraud expert now and put down his radar gun, go investigate the internet and fax webhosts about hundreds or thousands of fraud sites. can't see anything wrong with this plan. should end internet fraud overnight.

gee thanx, BigPipe, we wooda never thought of it.

but maybe you could just delete the HTML file on the obvious ones and leave the really tricky ones for the police ?

I have been having other disputes w/ godaddy; I am attempting to resolve a long list, which is what had brought me here.

However, in the websearch, I did learn that this message is @ least @ two locations:
