Hi all, I was selling my car on e-bay. Highest bidder sent cashier's check for the bid price. not a penny more.. Name was African.. some Okeke... But the address on the Fedex envelope and the bank where the check was obtained are in the US. Actually the address belongs to a Company: Miracle Ventures Inc. I have googled and found that such a company does really exist in the area where the check is sent from. I cashed the check two days ago. Today I saw the amount on my account... I asked my bank if it was really cleared. They said yes. However I have my doubts.. Can it still be a scam? How long should I wait before I send the title and ship the car? Thanks a lot... |

Ok hmmmm you may be in a pickle. DO NOT use a single cent of the money and do not ship the car. My gutt reaction is this could be a scam. Call the company from the face of the check and talk to accounts payable dept. Ask if they ever wrote a check to you for the purchase of a vehicle off of ebay. They can research your name and see if a check was issued to you at any time. If they say no then you have a problem and do not touch that money it is not yours. |
