I received a check from Canada as the post mark said.. I do not know what to do with this . My local police dispatch office told me to burn it but I would rather give it to some officials or something so they can process it and find out who sent it and so no other need to have this problem. I almost cashed it but thankfully I have people who care about me and we discussed it and we decided against it. Which is of course for the best. I hope no one else has to think about if it is real or not my experience has shown me to pay attention and read the whole letter. Although Wal- Mart instructed me to call my local post office because she said it was mail fraud because I had not cashed it yet.

If you keep it, write VOID across the front.

Why keep something that could be a personal liability?

I personally would not keep it . . . I would shred it . . . but I do know that there are some people out there who like to keep these things as a souvenir. I was just saying that if they DID keep it, they should write void on it.

I received a UPS legal envelope today with extemely urgent on it addressed to my daughter. I opened it since she's not home (she moved) and inside was a check for $3000. It was written from the Penson Fund account and was drawn through Chase/JP Morgan bank. I contacted my daughter and she told me that she responded to a survey in Craiglist and was offered 300 dollars to transfer money. She insisted that I send the check to her. I did a research in the internet and found this site. I am so shocked that this scam is so prevalent. Looking over the UPS label, I saw that it was printed on the back of similar paper as the check. I think it did not even go through UPS and it might have been hand delivered. now I'm wondering it this is locally done--meaning in my neighborhood. this is scary.
