I was selling an item and was contacted by a scammer. The first few emails seemed ok so I gave him a mailing address to send payment to. (was my assistants address who handles my business) After giving the address the scammer stated he was sending a cashiers check with an over payment to pay a private shipping company. I looked this up right away and found it to be a scam and emailed him back and told him I knew it was a scam and to not contact me any longer. Now he is STILL emailing me and saying he cancelled the payment but I owe him money for the cancel charges on shipping for the payment. He will not leave me alone and I am regretting so much giving out an address. I really need help and advice from someone please. Please email me with answers.

Post his email id and other contact information here, for a start.
Tell him the check was seized by the FBI, they have his email id, and they are currently investigating.

Block their email address. Ignore them. They do have your real life information. Contact your local law enforcement. Contact the bank that the check was drawn on to alert them.

The information they gave you is most likely false or names of other victims. You can forward their emails to the abuse department of the ISP they use. You will need to include all of the headers and text of the emails.

I know that when others have told their scammer that they have given all of the information over to the FBI and they are looking into the case it will usually be enough for the scammer to stop contact.
